Become a volunteer

If you're interested in binturongs and want to play a practical part in protecting this endangered species, one way of helping us is to become a volunteer. Would you like to make a concrete commitment to protecting the binturong and the environment? Would you like to give your time and skills to help the binturong?

Volunteering in France

From communications and funding applications to educational events and participation in nature festivals, ABConservation's activities are diverse, and we promise there's something for everyone!

We are particularly looking for people for occasional assignments:

Animator an awareness-raising stand on binturong at one or more of our events from May to September (see events calendar - free training provided by team members beforehand).
Graphic designer to help us create posters, flyers, or any other communication visuals.

And a long-term commitment:

Communications manager : management of news, social networking pages, showcasing the association's events and achievements, etc.
Head of sponsorship and fundraising : canvassing companies, setting up fund-raising campaigns, preparing applications for various grants.

Volunteering in the Philippines

Here is a non-exhaustive list of possible missions:

Animator : creation of educational and environmental awareness activities, event entertainment
Communications Manager management of our social networks, creation of publications...
Videographer Video: creation of a video presenting our organization

How much does membership cost?

To become an ABConservation volunteer, you must become a member by joining the association. Being a member of ABConservation also means being invited to special events dedicated to this species, and getting all the latest news about the binturong and the association by e-mail and on our public and private social networks. It also means receiving advance notice of volunteer opportunities to get more involved in the field. Finally, it means being invited to express your views at the Annual General Meeting, which takes place every two years, by taking part in the vote to elect the members of the board, and by being a driving force behind current and future projects.

How much does membership cost?

Benefit from an income tax reduction of 66% (within the limit of 20% of your taxable income). For your company, benefit from a tax reduction of 60%.

Active members : 15€
Reduced rate 9€ for students, jobseekers or those receiving minimum social benefits (proof less than 6 months old).

Supporting members : 30€

Supporting members + 10 per month
Membership costs 120 per year, which represents a month's salary for one of our forest guides.

Supporting members ++ 20 per month
Membership costs 240€ per year, which represents one year's university tuition for our Filipino student master's degree in environmental sciences.

Supporting members +++ 30 per month
Membership costs 360€ per year, which represents one month's salary for our research project coordinator in the Philippines.

Honorary members Exempt from contributions
Honorary members are those who have rendered outstanding services to the association. Honorary members can only be elected by members of the Board.

How long does membership last?

Membership runs until December 31st of the current year. On January 1, you will receive a reminder to renew your membership.
